URG SCHOLARSHIP FOUNDATION
BRIEF
THE URG SCHOLARSHIP FOUNDATION WAS FOUNDED IN 2014, IN HONOR OF INDIVIDUALS WHO GIVE THEIR TALENT, TIME AND VERY OFTEN THEIR OWN FINANCES TO ENSURE THE GROWTH AND SUCCESS OF THE AUTOMOTIVE RECYCLING INDUSTRY.
THE FOUNDATION IS DEDICATED TO SUPPORTING AUTOMOTIVE RECYCLERS IN THEIR PURSUIT OF HIGHER LEARNING, SUPERIOR SERVICE AND EXCEPTIONAL PRODUCTS TO THE REPAIR INDUSTRY.
EACH YEAR THE FOUNDATION OFFERS SUBSTANTIAL FINANCIAL SCHOLARSHIPS TO AUTO RECYCLING EMPLOYEES AND THE CHILDREN OF EMPLOYEES THAT ARE ATTENDING 4 YEAR AND TECHNICAL/TRADE SCHOOLS TO ASSIST WITH THEIR EDUCATION.
SCHOLARSHIP APPLICANT
REQUIREMENTS
- Must be an employee, or child of an employee, who has worked at least 1 year
- Enrolled in 12 hours for full-time student
- Enrolled in 6 hours for full-time employee
- Minimum 3.0 GPA
- Must be attending college in the fall of the current year
- Can win up to four times
- Must be an employee, or child of an employee, who has worked at least 1 year
- Enrolled in a trade/technical/vocational program
- Must be attending school in the fall of the current year
- Can win up to two times
Applications are made available each January for the following fall semester and award winners are announced at the URG Annual Training Conference.
Note: owners, their relatives, and those owning over $100,000 of stock in the employing yard are not eligible.
